We are minerals specialists working across a range of sectors where minerals are used, including minerals and metals raw materials, automotive, renewable energy technology, ICT, electronics, consumer goods, packaging, and jewellery. We also work with financial institutions that have minerals and minerals-use sectors in their portfolios.We are experts in key approaches to advance just and sustainable minerals value chains, including:
- human rights and environmental due diligence (HREDD);
- environmental, social and governance processes (ESG); and
- working with multi-stakeholder initiatives and standard-setting bodies to develop and implement best practices for sustainability.
We deliver services and assist our clients across three business areas:
- Responsible raw materials: Extensive portfolio of mineral sector-related policy advice, programme implementation and research, with a specialism in ASM and fragile economies. We implement large multi-year projects with donors, miners, traders and smelter/refiners
- Responsible sourcing: We advise and assist companies, governments, civil society organisations, and industry and multi-stakeholder groupings to implement, advocate for, and incentivise various aspects of human rights and environmental due diligence in line with international norms.
- Responsible investment: We work with foundations, funds, commercial banks, asset managers and development finance actors to mobilise capital into responsible minerals value chains and implement human rights and environmental due diligence in line with international norms.
